Our Lady of the Assumption Parish welcomes and congratulates you on your upcoming marriage!  We have put together this information to help you in the planning process.

The Sacrament of Matrimony will mark the rest of your lives as God's model of His love for His people.  In choosing to be married sacramentally in the Catholic Church, you are witnessing to the importance of that faith in your life.  You are to be involved in a most personal Sacrament.  Your relationship with the church must be as important as your relationship with each other.  You should feel comfortable in the church in which you marry.  By worshiping together, you will know the love of God and the support of your church.  As you seek the Lord's blessing on your married life, be as free to ask His guidance during this time of preparation.

We presume that either the bride or groom is a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.  While you may be married in any Catholic church of your choice, it is proper that your home parish pastor give his permission for you to be married in another Catholic church.  This means that if you do not actually live in Our Lady of the Assumptio parish, make an appointment with the pastor of the parish in which you reside for his permission.
